The Kia Soul is a compact car designed at Kia’s design center in California, unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, manufactured in South Korea and marketed globally beginning with model year 2010.
Kia has taken a groundbreaking, award-winning design rooted in funky urban DNA and drove it into the future. The all-new Kia Soul has been invigorated and refined – inside and out – with sporty, SUV-like styling, a host of cutting-edge technologies, and upgraded performance for an engaging ride.
Robust wheel arches, wraparound greenhouse and Soul’s instantly recognizable high squared shoulders combine to create an aggressive, head-turning on-road presence.
The front side air vents are seamlessly integrated with the spherical, high-mounted “floating” tweeter speakers as a stylish extension of the circular theme found throughout the interior. Playing music in the AUX, iPod, and USB connectivity combined with the floating tweeter provides best sound quality during a ride. It supports devices such as iPod, iPhone, or iPad. With a mono-TFT LCD for excellent visibility, this advanced audio system features radio and MP3 audio file playback. Another 4.3” TFT-LCD is mounted on the cabin. It displays a comprehensive range of vehicle information.
Choose from three driving modes – Normal, Comfort and Sport – to fine tune the steering feel depending on conditions and preference. On the steering wheel, the driver can easily adjust volume and change stations without taking off hands from the wheel.
The all-new Soul offers class-leading luggage capacity of 686ℓ (SAE), enlarged rear hatch opening width and height, and rear seat full-folding and 60:40 folding for ultimate convenience when transporting items of almost any shape or size.
Under the hood, the Soul was engineered with the U2 1.6 VGT Engine with a 1582 cc displacement, maximum power of 128 ps at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 26.5 kg•m at 1,900 – 2,750 rpm. Enjoy driving with the 6-speed automatic transmission that offers durability and smooth shifting.
